I have lived amongst the Lakota for twenty seven years, and in that time, I have been incredibly blessed to have been at the heart of all that is sacred: The night cult of Yuwipi and Lowanpi, sweat lodge, vision quest, healing ceremonies and the Sundance.
I was taught the sacred songs and the sacred phonetics of the element fields: Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Space, by the late, great spirit caller Lorenzo Eagle Road. Hehaka Tahinyan Mani, Elk Walks Visible.
Before Lorenzo died of alcoholism and despair, he recorded two volumes of sacred calling songs for future generation of the tribes of Earth . H’oka Wicasa’: The Singing man, and ‘Olowon Yuhamani: Walks with the songs.
A few weeks before he died, I drove him back to his rundown apartment in Parmelee, South Dakota. He was very sad. He’d had gangrene in his fingers and the hospital had chopped off his hand…his drum hand, and he said to me as we went along: “You see the hills, when I was young, my people would go on hanblecheya [vision quest] and cry for a dream…and the spirits came. Today, there is nothing …. Tunkashila has swept the hills clean of power with his wings…he has forsaken us.”
He cried and I cried with him.
But, I found out later when I took a course on sonic repatterning, that Tunkashila has not forsaken us. What happened was that ‘The powers That Be’ changed the musical scale from a heart based scale to 440hz. 440hz only resonates on the base three chakras.
The diatonic scale of do, re, mi… does not resonate upon the heart field and [Skan Skan] the ‘moving power’, and therefore sacred reality for Indian people was immediately compromised. The other half of the equation was achieved by the destruction of the phonetics of Lakota Sacred language and, as a result the Sonic telephone number to spiritual reality was lost.
There are two forms of aboriginal language, the mundane and the sacred. The mundane Lakota language still hangs on in little pockets of the country, like Gaelic still survives on the west coasts of Ireland and Scotland, but worldwide the sacred language of the shaman’s has deliberately been destroyed. Credo Mutwa the Zulu shaman has a lot to say about what happened to the sacred articles, songs and sacred language of the Zulu, in his talks with David Icke.
We need to pray from our hearts for answers to the problems of today. The solutions exist in Sonic reality and in the ‘spiritual’ walk of life, the seeker will find what he is looking for.
On a building at Custer Battlefield, Montana are written the words: Wowasake kin slolyapo. Wowahwala he e.
Know the Power. That is peace.

March 11, 2014 at 12:14 amAs always, Elva, this is spot on. There have been many sacred sonic languages; most are forgotten, if not gone.

March 11, 2014 at 1:01 amIt would be very interesting to hear the sonic language of the last tribes of ‘natural man and his sonic reality’ in the rainforests of the Amazon. Their music too, would still be resonant. But as soon as they are contacted, in will come the bible and bottle…and they too will soon be lost.
