That Art Thou
Man, tread softly on the earth
What looks like dust
Is also stuff of which galaxies are made
The green of earth’s great trees and simple grasses
Is the same music played in red
Throughout our trunks and limbs.
Evelyn Nolt: The Glory Which is Earth.
One of the great inspirational teachers in my life was Sir George Trevelyan, founder of the Wrekin Trust, a charitable foundation which has become a focal point for people committed to the exploration of their spiritual natures and the development of consciousness.
I first met Sir George in the seventies at the Festival of Mind, Body and Spirit at Olympia in London. I ran a stand for The Hunt Saboteurs Association and in the week of the festival, I got to know Sir George.
Later, I went to his poetry readings in Glastonbury. He was my ‘White Rider’ and a motivating Warrior of Light. One afternoon in the late seventies, a few of us went for a walk with Sir George to Old Winchester Hill in Hampshire, England. He stopped to give us a breather, and pointing to a yew tree, said in a loud voice: ‘That Art Thou’.
Needless to say, I didn’t really understand what he meant. I ‘got it’ intellectually, but it didn’t register in my Heart.
Many years later, I moved to Rosebud Lakota Reservation in South Dakota, USA. The Lakota people have a phrase ‘Mitakuye Oyasin’ meaning ‘All my Relations’: animal, vegetable and mineral.
‘Mitakuye Oyasin’ in essence means the same as ‘That Art Thou’.
The following line from ‘The Glory Which is Earth is incredibly profound in a spiritual and physical sense. ‘The green of earth’s great trees and simple grasses, is the same music played in red throughout our trunks and limbs’
The veins in a leaf are the same design as the veins in man, and we can see the same pattern in a bolt of jagged lightening, no matter how large or small the pattern is the same. This pattern is called fractal geometry, and it can be shown that life is nothing more than the replication of fractals in a dance of life and death[duality]
Fractals are the endless building blocks of life. Everywhere we look in the natural world, we find fractal geometry: in ourselves, the Fibonacci spiral in plants, the hexagonal construction of the compound eyes of insects and the amazing wings of dragonflies, which are assembled with quadrilateral, pentagonal and hexagonal geometries, that handle force in different ways.
It has now to come to light that as incredible as it seems, the heartbeat of man and animals is also fractal in nature.
Viewed from a spiritual perception this is very interesting: if the body is fractal, a geometric creation, we could be living inside a computer programme and in effect are biological software programmes.
The consciousness present in ‘physical vehicles’ can only be as aware as the software they inhabit.
In this sense, a cat for instance, in essence, is the same as a dog, a horse and a bumble bee. They are just operating through the limitations of a different software programme.
At the base of all life is love for ‘That Art Thou’.
